Songkran Festival - Former Thai New Year

Hi there! Songkran's coming again. In the past, Thai people celebrated the hottest time of the year by going to temples, giving alms to monks, meditating, chanting, watering the Buddha and the respects' hands with blessing. Finally they enjoyed themselves with playing music, singing, dancing and splashing one another with water.

Don't be pessimistic. Actually Songkran now isn't too sexy. Those pictures are rare but on the other hand highlighted the festival.

Teaching jobs are coming too. Most of them are in central and eastern Thailand. Salary: 30,000 THB/month (native English speakers) and 17,000-20,000 THB/month (non-native English speakers). Teaching 20-22 hours/week. Contract is 10-12 months and extendable . Accommodation is up to the individual school, let's say mostly not provided. House rent: 2,000-5,000 THB/month (depending on location and facilities).
